xAI Grok
Connect an xAI API key and use the Grok model currently available in Mobius.
An xAI Grok connection supplies an organization-owned key for managed Grok model calls. Mobius uses that key before a platform xAI credential. It does not register actions or source events.
Connect and choose the model
Open Build > Integrations > xAI Grok, select Connect xAI Grok, enter the
xAI API key, and select Save credentials. The API path is
POST /v1/integrations/providers/xai/connect with api_key; use xai as the
provider ID.
The current model picker offers:
| Model | ID | Guidance shown in Mobius |
|---|---|---|
| Grok 4.7 | grok-4.7 | General-purpose reasoning |
Older Grok models can remain on existing assignments, but only Grok 4.7 is a current choice for a new assistant or conversation override.
Prove the connection with a turn
Check that xAI Grok appears in the assistant's Model menu. The catalog
source is byok when the organization key will be used and platform when
Mobius supplies the credential. BYOK calls use the connected account's quota;
platform calls also need an eligible plan and available Mobius credits at
execution time.
Start a short conversation and inspect its activity if the turn fails. The picker confirms catalog availability, while the turn records credential, funding, and provider errors.
The assistant's saved model applies unless the conversation was created with a model override. That override is stored with the conversation and is not replaced by later assistant edits. Worker-routed assistants reject managed model overrides.
Read Integrations for connection ownership and Assistant instructions and settings for model selection details.
